2016 NYSC Stream II news update
Some are able to see date of printing the call up letter on their dashboard while some others dont. This has given the PCMs concerns on what will become of them as:
- They have only 7days from now to report to camp.
- the rumour being spread that the stream II has been moved to the next stream and;
- NYSC use of “2016 Batch ‘A’ Orientation” on their social media instead of “2016 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Orientation”
Here are PCMs view:
ABUJA – The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Wednesday, denied a rumour peddling through the social media that it had cut short the ongoing orientation exercise forthe 2016 Batch ‘A’ by shifting the stream two till the end of the year, due to scarcity of fund.The NYSC Director of Press and Public Relation, Mrs Abosede Aderibigbe debunked the rumours in an exclusive phone interview with Vanguard in Abuja.Aderibigbe described the reportas unfounded and a clear misrepresentation of the truth, spreading around by the enemies of the scheme.According to her, the exercise ison course as scheduled by the scheme, urging the general public to disregarded the report.“It is not true, we have not postponed the stream 2 till the end of this year as speculated. The scheme is on course. People should disregard the report,” she clarified.Aderibigbe called on the prospective and serving corps members not take information as regards to the scheme’s activities from the social media.
The rumor all over the nation is that there is purported plan by NYSC to convert the supposed stream2 into 2016 batch B to be deployed for service in june/July or Nov/Dec. NYSC has since failed to make official comment on this issue. It is too bad that young Nigerians who left school over a year ago are being held down at home because of NYSC. Those that want to pursue their career paths or engage in any trade cannot do so because of NYSC. This ruthless delay is a sign of a failed organization that has lost capability and focus on its mandate. Budget has been passed and signed ,there is nothing to lay blame on. If government can no longer fund this scheme it should be scrapped let young graduates go straight into what ever endeavor of their choice after graduation without having to waste at home waiting for the insensitive NYSC to deploy to serve. Enough is enough. NYSC should not be this mute and unconcerned over an important issue of this nature bothering on the lives of young of this nation, NYSC should stand up and concur or disprove these rumors flying all over the country. The approach doesn’t necessarily need press conference , just post it on your website Page or tweet it on Facebook page reaffairming your commitment and reassuring these helpless young Nigerians.This is playing on the future of thousands of Nigerian youths who are rotting and wasting away at home. May God help Nigeria.
From observation, the printing of NYSC 2016 Batch A stream II call-up letter might be on Saturday, 14th May, 2016. Prospective corps members are advised to get ready to serve their father land and ignore any other rumour. Should there be any change in information, NYSC will not hesitate to pass the information to the prospective corps members.
